About Sebrae
SEBRAE (Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises), is an autonomous social service, part of the S-system that aims to assist the development of micro and small enterprises, stimulating entrepreneurship in the country.
Sebrae is a private nonprofit established in 1972 with the mission to promote the competitiveness and development of micro and small businesses and promote entrepreneurship. It also operates with a focus on the process of formalization of the economy through partnerships with public and private sector, training programs, trade fairs and business meetings.
Part of this effort has gained visibility with the approval of the General Law of Micro and Small Enterprise in December 2006.
One of the provisions of general law, the Federal Single, already regulated, represented a great gain for micro and small enterprises in terms of reducing bureaucracy, tax burden.
Besides consulting work for entrepreneurs with respect to various issues such as opening Enterprises, Training for sale, Financial Management, Human Resources, among others, Sebrae also has several special projects.
Among them the Draft Guidance for Credit where through courses conducted by instructors who undergo a rigorous selection process, entrepreneurs learn how to use the best way to obtain credit or microcredit.
The EMPRETEC, course aimed at developing entrepreneurial principles in business also has quite successfully.
Other special projects are also part of the educational structure Sebrae linked to Associations and self-sustainability.
Instructors Sebrae travel the country advising entrepreneurs, artisans or classes of workers (sewers, milk producers, among others) in creating cooperatives and associations.
