Haglöfs was founded in 1914 in Sweden by Victor Haglöf and is today the largest supplier of outdoor equipment in Scandinavia. Haglöfs currently markets more than 500 products in three product areas: Hardware, Clothing and Footwear. The range is characterized by functional design, highly technical materials, advanced construction, high usability, good fit, light weight and long life. Haglöfs’ commitment to constant improvement is also reflected in the company’s approach to sustainability, which is an integral part of the business – from concept, design, and product development to production, logistics, and distribution. The proportion of recycled materials used in the company’s products is increasing all the time.
Haglöfs has 119 employees and is active in 19 markets through a network of its own companies and distributors. Sales for 2009 amounted to SEK 589.6 million, and the company has achieved average growth of 15.8 percent over the last five years. Haglöfs had been owned by the listed private equity company Ratos since 2001, but was sold to Asics on July 12, 2010.
